Brief Overview of Key Company Policies
Please read and consider these key policices carefully; you will be required to indicate that you have done so on the application form below.
Employee Handbook. If hired, you will be directed to an Employee Handbook that you will be asked to read and sign. The signature step involves downloading the PDF pages, printing, signing, and turning the signed pages into your supervisor.
At-Will Employment. Your employment with Hess Pumice is at-will. This means that neither you nor Hess Pumice has entered into a contract regarding the duration of your employment.
Confidentiality Agreement. Upon accepting employment with Hess Pumice, you will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement, which generally provides that you will not use or disclose any Hess Pumice confidential information, either during or after your employment.

Drug Testing. Hess employees are subject to drug testing—pre-employment and at random intervals during your employment with us.
Safety and Health. Hess Pumice Products maintains safety and health practices consistent with the federal Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) standards for our industry.
Safe Performance Responsibility. If you are ever in doubt about how to safely perform a job, it is your responsibility to ask your supervisior for assistance. All accidents, injuries, potential safety hazards, safety suggestions and health and safety related issue must be reported immediately to your supervisor.
Outside Jobs. Employees may not take an outside job, either for pay or as a time donation, with a competitor or customer of Hess Pumice; nor may they do work on their own if it competes with in any way with the sales of products or services we provide our customers.
